Overview
Organizations will need to have a qualified TechSoup account and be eligible for the QuickBooks Online offers.
Use the Eligibility Quiz to confirm your organization’s eligibility for a donated QuickBooks Online subscription and review Intuit’s eligibility and restrictions for their nonprofit program on TechSoup.
Learn more about the QuickBooks Online offers that are currently available on TechSoup as annual subscriptions.
-
QuickBooks Online Plus, 1-Year Subscription, 5 Users (currently $80 per year)
- QuickBooks Online Advanced, 1-Year Subscription, 25 Users (currently $170 per year)
NOTE: Add-on services, such as Payroll, are not included in these donated QuickBooks Online subscriptions. Many add-on services can be purchased directly from Intuit.
Existing QuickBooks Online Subscribers
The QuickBooks Online offers available through TechSoup are designed for new subscribers and cannot be applied to an existing QuickBooks Online subscription. However, there is a workaround where organizations can copy their existing QuickBooks Online company to their new, donated QuickBooks Online subscription. While the company file can be copied over to a new QuickBooks Online, not all data can be migrated. For example, data for Intuit's add-on service, Payroll, cannot be transferred between subscriptions.
Organizations are encouraged to review the ‘copy company file’ process before requesting one of the QuickBooks Online offers to help determine if the TechSoup offer is right for them — see TechSoup Support for the process: How to Migrate Data to a New, Donated QuickBooks Online Account.
TechSoup has partnered with QuickBooks Made Easy for Nonprofits, who provide a QuickBooks Online support service to our members where their remote technicians complete the ‘copy company file’ process on the organization's behalf. Organizations can request the QuickBooks Data Migration Support offer when they request one of the QuickBooks Online offers, or later on if they end up requiring support. Organizations can also contact Intuit's QuickBooks Online Support to see if they are able provide assistance instead.
How to Request QuickBooks Online
When ready, add one of the QuickBooks Online offers to your cart on TechSoup and check out.
Quantity Allotment
Intuit only allows eligible organizations one donated QuickBooks Online subscription. Organizations will not be able to request multiple donated subscriptions for their programs or initiatives, unless those entities have their own qualified TechSoup account as an eligible independent or subordinate 501(c)(3) Public Charity, branch location, or program/department.
- Programs or initiatives not eligible for their own TechSoup account, and are owned and operated by an eligible organization, are welcome to use or share the QuickBooks Online their parent organization requests from TechSoup.
- Fiscally sponsored organizations are not eligible to use offers acquired through their fiscal sponsor's TechSoup account.
Payment
You will be required to provide a debit card, credit card, or electronic check as the payment method. The payment method provided will be saved for your future annual renewals with TechSoup.
After paying the TechSoup admin fee, you will not owe Intuit any fees for the subscription.
Add-on services, such as payroll are not included in the Intuit for Nonprofits program and will incur separate fees from Intuit or the service provider.
Fulfillment
TechSoup typically fulfills requests within three business days of receiving payment at check out. You will receive a fulfillment email from TechSoup with a QuickBooks Online registration link to start your new, donated subscription.
