Add-on services are not included with QuickBooks Online subscriptions, are not available through Intuit for Nonprofits, and TechSoup does not offer any add-on services within our catalog. Instead, you request the add-on services and pay all related fees directly to Intuit. All questions and support requests must be directed to QuickBooks Online Support as well.
Payroll
Intuit offers Enhanced and Full Service Payroll plans for an additional monthly fee. Since Payroll is not included in the Intuit Donation Program, all fees related to this add-on service are paid directly to Intuit.
For instructions on how to complete this process, you can refer to the section How can I add Payroll? within TechSoup's QuickBooks Online FAQ. If you have an existing QuickBooks Online account, you will not be able to use these instructions. Unfortunately, Payroll data will not transfer from an existing subscription to a new one.
When you activate Payroll, QuickBooks Online indicates that you will pay the full amount for both products. This is inaccurate and currently due to a system limitation. Despite this indicator, you will only pay for the Payroll service, and you will not be billed for your QuickBooks Online subscription.
Please note, Payroll data will not transfer from an existing subscription to a new one.
Bill Pay
Bill Pay is currently the only add-on service Intuit is unable to add to free subscriptions, like the donated one offered through TechSoup. This issue is being looked at by Bill Pay, who has told Intuit they hope to have it available once they figure out the system issue. Bill Pay does not have an ETA on a fix yet.
An alternative to Bill Pay is BILL for Nonprofits. The BILL Corporate Plan – Access to Discounted Rates provides 12 months of access to a 40 percent discount on a monthly subscription to the BILL Corporate plan for new users. It includes a 30-day trial for BILL. After you pay the TechSoup admin fee, you'll pay BILL directly for the discounted subscription for each user and approval user. Transaction fees are not discounted.
