Overview
Organizations that have operations at separate locations may be eligible to add each branch or chapter location to TechSoup, so they each have their own account. Some providers place quantity limits on their offers which apply to each TechSoup account. This is why organizations are typically only allowed one TechSoup account to represent their entire organization.
EXAMPLE: Intuit only allows organizations one donated QuickBooks Online subscription. For each branch location or chapter to request their own QuickBooks Online they would each need their own TechSoup account.

Eligibility
If you are unsure if your branch or chapter location is eligible for its own TechSoup account, add them to TechSoup anyways and we will make the final determination during the qualification review.
- To be eligible for a TechSoup account each branch location or chapter must be located in a geographically distinct area, usually a different neighborhood, city, or state.
- Admin offices are eligible so long as they meet all the general requirements of a valid branch detailed in the first bullet point.
- Typically, if several branches or chapters are located in the same building they will be considered a single location, eligible for a single TechSoup account.
-
Programs, departments, and projects of nonprofit organizations may be eligible for their own TechSoup account. Programs, etc. can also use the TechSoup account of the nonprofit organization that owns and operates them to access nonprofit offers.
-
Places of worship and their affiliated schools may be eligible for their own separate TechSoup accounts.
-
Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) may be eligible as a branch location if they meet all the general requirements of a valid branch detailed in the first bullet point and are treated as a disregarded entity.
- Fiscally sponsored organizations, projects, and initiatives are not eligible as a branch location and are not allowed to use their sponsor’s TechSoup account to access nonprofit offers.
How to Add Branch and Chapter Locations
Add each branch or chapter location to your TechSoup account as though it were an independent organization. You will be promoted for your organization's Employer Identification Number (EIN), or FSCS ID for libraries. Select “I Don’t See My Organization” to start a new registration. Each location should reference its own information, including:
- Employer Identification Number (EIN) or FSCS ID
- Shipping Address
- Local Annual Operating Expenses (Budget)
- Representatives (Authorized Agents)
TechSoup may request documentation to confirm your branch or chapter location. Learn how to ensure you receive TechSoup’s email communications.
Free Services for Multisite Organizations
If your nonprofit or public library has 10 or more locations, our specialists will provide free assistance to get you set up with TechSoup. Give all your locations access to TechSoup's donation programs and other benefits without having to add each location individually.
- Add all your locations at once.
- Request donations for multiple locations at one time.
Branch and Chapter Location Already Joined TechSoup
If your branch or chapter location has already joined TechSoup, after entering your organization's Employer Identification Number (EIN), or FSCS ID for libraries and selecting the location, you will see a list of current representatives and be prompted for an association code.
Do not re-add your organization if you see it listed. Duplicate organization accounts are not allowed on TechSoup, and your qualification status may be updated to Pending while TechSoup works on closing one of the organization accounts. Instead, contact TechSoup Customer Service if you are unable to locate your organization's association code or cannot update certain organization details, such as the budget.
Organizations with Operations Outside of the U.S.
The TechSoup United States (U.S.) website, www.techsoup.org, serves organizations within the United States. However, the TechSoup Global Network is international!
Find the TechSoup website serving the country or region where your offices are incorporated.
Organizations with branches or offices outside of the U.S. may not transfer products or services to a non-U.S. branch or office for full-time use. Branches or offices outside of the U.S. must request offers from the TechSoup Global Network partner in that country.
