Overview

Add-on services are not included with the donated QuickBooks Online subscriptions on TechSoup and are not available through Intuit for Nonprofits.

• All fees related to this add-on service are paid directly to Intuit.
• All questions and support requests must be directed to QuickBooks Online Support.
• Data may not be transferable to a new, donated QuickBooks Online account.  This can depend on the add-on service an organization utilizes.  Contact QuickBooks Online Support for more information about their add-on services.

Payroll

Intuit offers Enhanced and Full Service Payroll plans for an additional monthly fee, which is not offered through the Intuit Donation Program on TechSoup.  

When you activate Payroll, QuickBooks Online indicates that you will pay the full amount for both products. This is inaccurate and currently due to a system limitation. Despite this indicator, you will only pay for the Payroll service, and you will not be billed for your QuickBooks Online subscription.

NOTE: Payroll data will not transfer from an existing subscription to a new one.

QuickBooks Bill Pay

In December 2025, Intuit notified TechSoup that QuickBooks Bill Pay was now available to free and donated QuickBooks Online subscriptions, which meant TechSoup members could now utilize the add-on service.   

In May 2026, TechSoup began receiving reports from our members that Bill Pay could not be activated. TechSoup is currently awaiting an update from Intuit on the status of Bill Pay and it's availability to our members. 

At this time, we cannot confirm or guarantee Bill Pay can be added on to a donated QuickBooks Online Plus or Advanced subscription acquired through TechSoup.

When an update becomes available, one will be provided here.

Alternative Option: BILL for Nonprofits

An alternative option available through TechSoup is BILL for Nonprofits.  BILL offers a payment and invoicing solution for nonprofits to manage their accounts payable and accounts receivable.

This offer provides 12 months of access to a 40 percent discount on a monthly subscription to the BILL Essentials, Team, or Corporate plan for new users. It includes a 30-day trial for BILL.  After you request this offer through TechSoup, you'll pay BILL directly for the discounted subscription for each user and approval user. Transaction fees are not discounted.
