Overview
To represent your organization as an authorized agent on TechSoup, new representatives will need an organization's association code to successfully add the organization to their TechSoup account. The current representatives for your organization will be able to retrieve the association cod from the organization's details in their TechSoup account.
How to Add Your Organization
After joining TechSoup, when adding your new organization you will be promoted for your organization's Employer Identification Number (EIN), or FSCS ID for libraries. If your organization has already joined TechSoup you will see a list of current representatives and be prompted for an association code.
Learn how to find and edit your organization’s association code.
NOTE: Do not re-add your organization if you see it listed. Duplicate organization accounts are not allowed on TechSoup and your qualification status may be updated to Pending while TechSoup works on closing one of the organization accounts. Instead, contact TechSoup Customer Service if you are unable to locate your organization's association code or cannot update certain organization details, such as the budget.
Don't see your organization in the list? Select “I Don’t See My Organization” to start a new registration. This usually occurs when a subordinate organization enters their partner organization's EIN to reflect their subordinate tax-exempt status.
Can't find your association code?
Contact TechSoup Customer Service if the current representative is unable to provide the association code, and provide one of the following documents in our Live Chat. The document will be used to verify you as a representative.
Please keep in mind:
- Your name does not have to be listed on the provided document.
- We do not accept state tax documents. Only federal tax documents will be accepted.
- For IRS documents, we do not accept files in Microsoft Word format (.doc, .docx).
- We do not accept documents submitted to the IRS, including Form 990 and W-2s.

IRS Document
A copy of any document received from the IRS in the mail and lists:
- "IRS" and "Department of Treasury" in the header
- Your organization’s name
- Your organization's Employer Identification Number (EIN).
An example of this type of document would be an affirmation letter or update confirmations, such as a name change has been processed.
Photo of Your Determination Letter
A photo of the 501(c)(3) determination letter that your organization received from the IRS by mail.
If you do not have a copy of your determination letter you may request an affirmation letter from the IRS by following these instructions or calling the IRS at 877-829-5500.
Group Exemption Letter
Some organization’s tax-exempt status is covered under a regional or national parent organization’s group exemption status with the IRS. If your organization is covered by a group exemption, TechSoup will accept a copy of your Group Exemption Letter in place of a determination letter.
