How to Manage Payment or Cancel a Subscription / Membership
30 days before the renewal date a new request (aka order) will automatically be added to the Request History of your TechSoup account. At that time the organization can add payment, edit payment , or cancel the request, which will cancel the subscription or membership.
Pending Renewal Request (aka Order)
Once the renewal request has appeared in the Request History, use the TechSoup Support instructions, Pending Request (aka Order): How to Edit Payment, Add Payment, or Cancel, to manage the payment or cancel the request. Learn about the payment methods TechSoup will accept.
Future Renewal Requests (aka Order)
If you want to cancel a subscription or remove the saved payment information before the renewal request automatically appears in the Request History, you will need to contact TechSoup Customer Service. We can remove saved payment methods and cancel the subscription so no renewal requests appear in the future.
NOTE:
- For our members' security, TechSoup Customer Service is unable to accept payment by chat or email. Organizations are welcome to mail a check or fax a debit or credit card information to TechSoup instead, which TechSoup Customer Service can assist with.
- For "Access to Discounted Rates" offers, you might also need to cancel your subscription directly with the offer provider after you cancel your payment to TechSoup.
Saving Your Payment Information to Pending Renewal Request
When paying by credit / debit card or electronic check (ACH), we recommend saving your payment information for future renewals.
NOTE: Some subscriptions, like QuickBooks Online, require you to save payment.
Saving your payment information will ensure the next subscription or eligibility renewal for your offer will automatically process on the due date.
Under Subscription or Membership Renewal, select Credit card or Electronic check as your payment method, then select Pay automatically.
Authorization Holds for Recurring Payments
Once payment information is added at check out or if you previously saved your payment information, a pending authorization hold will appear on the payment method's statement 30 days before your renewal date. Your actual payment will not be processed until the due date.
The authorization hold may appear as multiple charges, but you will only be charged once. Authorization holds are usually removed within five business days from when the request is fulfilled or canceled, but this may vary depending on your financial institution's policies.
If the renewal request is canceled, the authorization hold will be removed within five business days.

Common Issues with Recurring Payments
If you do not see a pending request in your Request History for an offer with recurring payments there are two things to do:
- Adjust the date range to make sure the request is within the 30-day window.
- Confirm your organization is listed in your TechSoup account.
Some offers require you to save a payment method for recurring charges. Contact TechSoup Customer Service if your organization can only provide payment by mailing a check.
