Overview

Eligibility for offers is determined by the provider in accordance with their philanthropic goals and may vary according to organization information such as size, budget, location, or mission. Being ineligible for an offer is not a comment on an organization’s mission or services.

TechSoup partners with a broad range of providers to support the technology needs of nonprofits, libraries, and other social benefit organizations worldwide. Offer providers rely on TechSoup to verify that participating organizations meet eligibility criteria in order to take advantage of technology solutions offered. This includes a rigorous review of each organization to validate its legal status and verify that its mission, primary activities, and other details align with the eligibility criteria for specific offers.

Eligibility determinations might be subject to review by TechSoup auditors or as a result of a customer appeal. All reviews prompted by customer appeals are final.

NOTE: Nonprofit programs that require a validation token will not be listed in the TechSoup Eligibility Quiz or the Nonprofit Eligibility Requirements and Donor Partner Restrictions page.  These eligibility resources only list the nonprofit programs that are requested directly through www.techsoup.org.

Validation vs Eligibility

While all validated (aka qualified) organizations are eligible for at least some offers, not every organization meets the eligibility criteria of every provider. Therefore, TechSoup’s eligibility experts work closely with our legal department and the participating providers to ensure that all eligibility determinations are fair and impartial, optimizing access to valuable technology solutions, while meeting providers’ philanthropic goals.

Organization Type

An organization type is broken down into an Organization Type and Sub-Type.  When an organization is not eligible for an offer, it can be due to the Organization Type or Sub-Type.

Your organization type is determined by your organization's mission, activities, services, and vision.  TechSoup's determinations are based on the organization as a whole, not an individual department, program, or initiative.

Organization types are subject to review and providers may change which organization types are eligible.  Previously being eligible does not guarantee future eligibility.

Quantity

Individual offers and programs may have quantity requirements or allotments.  Some requirements or allotments examples:

• Limit the number of offers an organization can request per fiscal year (July 1st - June 30th)
• Limit the number of offers an organization can request per its lifetime.
• Require a minimum number of offers in the cart to check out.

Budget

Individual offers and programs may have budget minimums or limits.

For organizations who have already joined TechSoup, contact TechSoup Customer Service to request a budget update.  Please have the exact dollar amount ready.

Location

TechSoup is a nonprofit organization that supports charity organizations from around the world.  Our corporate partners might not make their nonprofit programs or offers available in every country or region.

  • US Territories may not be eligible for some offers available to U.S. organizations.

Contact TechSoup Customer Service if you have questions about your organization's eligibility or believe your eligibility is incorrect.  TechSoup can complete a new Eligibility Review if needed.
