Hours of Operation

The hours of operation are listed at the top of the  bubble once you have opened the window.

When is Live Chat is Typically Available?

• Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pacific
• Friday from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Pacific
  • Due to unprecedented demand for our services in 2025, and our lean resources, TechSoup may consider closing our Live Chat on Fridays to ensure our customer service team can respond to pending inquiries from all contact channels. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and are assessing our workforce to workload ratios each day until we are stabilized.

These hours are subject to change based on holidays and other factors. 

Where to Confirm Hours of Operation

Find our weekly Live Chat hours by clicking the Help bubble. The hours will be located at the top of the pop up window.  TechSoup will update the hours listed here to reflect any upcoming changes to the typical Live Chat hours.

Live Chat Closures

Second & Last Thursdays of the Month

On the second and last Thursdays of the month, Live Chat will open at 9 a.m. Pacific, instead of 7 a.m. Pacific. 

Upcoming Live Chat Closures

TechSoup and our Live Chat will be closed on the following dates:

• Friday - March 21, 2025
  • Due to unprecedented demand for our services in 2025, and our lean resources, our Live Chat will be closed on this day to ensure our customer service team can respond to pending inquiries from all contact channels. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our Live Chat's regular Hours of Operation will resume on Monday - March 24, 2025.

• Monday - March 31, 2025 ( Cesar Chavez Day )
• Monday - May 26, 2025 ( Memorial Day )
• Thursday - June 19, 2025 ( Juneteenth )

How to Access Live Chat

Connect with one of our TechSoup Customer Service representatives using our Live Chat feature.  You will be connected with a person, we do not use a Chat bot or AI to work with our members.

Live Chat is available on:

Live Chat is not available on:

1. To see  at the bottom right corner of your browser window, you must "Accept" all cookies when the prompt appears at the bottom of the screen when arriving at www.techsoup.org or support.techsoup.org.

Select your web browser for instructions on how to enable cookies in that specific browser:

• Chrome
• Edge
• Firefox
• Internet Explorer
• Safari

2. Select  at the bottom right corner of your browser window of www.techsoup.org or support.techsoup.org. 

Don't see the icon?  Complete all of the troubleshooting in, Unable to access TechSoup Customer Service’s Live Chat?, to resolve the issue.

3.  Type a word or phrase into the "Type your question here..." box, then hit Enter on your keyboard. 

After about a minute the Get in touch option will appear (so long as Live Chat is open), select this option.

4.  Select Live chat.

5.  Enter your name, the best email address to contact you at (you will be emailed a transcript of your chat after it ends), and a detailed description of the support you are looking for.  Then select Start Chat.

6.  Once the Live Chat has started, you will see "Chat Started" and where you are in line.  At the bottom right corner of the window is where the Live Chat options are, including where you can leave the chat.

Unable to Access Live Chat?

Review our Hours of Operation and Upcoming Live Chat Closures to confirm you are trying to chat when the Live Chat is available.
