Microsoft for Nonprofits or Microsoft Education
Microsoft has different eligibility criteria depending on whether an organization is classified as Nonprofit or Educational. While some organizations' activities and programs make them eligible for both Microsoft in Nonprofits and Microsoft Education, such as libraries and museums, Microsoft does not allow organizations to be classified for both programs. Your organization’s Microsoft account domain is allowed to have either an Education or a Nonprofit tag.
Due to this restriction, organizations eligible for both programs will need to decide if they wish to move forward with Microsoft for Nonprofits or Microsoft Education. Nonprofit and Academic licenses are not compatible and organizations cannot renew cloud subscriptions for both programs since they can only be tagged for one program.
Schools
Schools (K-12), college, universities, and some other types of educational institutes are not eligible for Microsoft for Nonprofits. See what offers your organization is eligible for with the Eligibility Quiz.
Instead, these organizations are encouraged to access Microsoft Education. Find learning tools and technology for your school or education institute with Microsoft Education – your organization may be eligible for a free Office 365.
