Overview

Edit your member details in your TechSoup account.  You can update your member name, login email address, and password.  Check out the Visual Guide: How to Edit Your Member Details at the bottom of this article.

When joining TechSoup, you will first create a member account with your individual information.  After your member account is created you will then add an organization and provide the organization's information.  A member's TechSoup account and an organization's TechSoup account are separate, but associate.  Learn how to update your organization details.

Need to add additional representatives for your organization on TechSoup? Learn how to invite individuals to represent your organization on TechSoup. Your organization can invite as many representatives as needed. Each representative will have their own TechSoup member account and login to access your organization's on TechSoup.

Member Name

Some of TechSoup’s corporate partners require the name of a contact for each recipient organization before they will allow a request to be processed and fulfilled. 

Due to these requirements, TechSoup cannot accept generic member names. For example, we cannot accept: “your organization’s name”, “IT Dept”, or “Executive Director”.

Email Address

The email address listed in your your member details is used to login to your TechSoup account and is where some of TechSoup's communications are sent.

Your login email address may be different than the "Organization Email" listed in your organization's details.  The organization email is where most fulfillment and billing notifications are sent.  Learn how to view and update your organization details.

You are required to use an login email address with an active inbox, so you are able to confirm your email address and reset your password.

Password

Your password is used to log in to your TechSoup account. Password requirements are:

• At least eight characters
• At least one uppercase letter
• At least one lowercase letter
• At least one number
• Doesn't include spaces, <, >, /, &, or #

Community Nickname

Your community nickname cannot be updated once it is created.  The community nickname only appears when posting on our community forums.

Visual Guide: How to Edit Your Member Details

1.  Log into your TechSoup account.  You can also find Your Account by clicking the icon shaped like a person in the top right corner of your screen. 

2.  Select "Edit Member Details".

3.  Update the information and select Save.

4.  You will receive a confirmation email.  If you updated your email address you will be required to confirm your new email address.
