Some subscription and access to discounted products have a recurring annual or monthly renewal through TechSoup. The following programs will automatically renew through TechSoup:
Each year or month you will need to renew your subscription or eligibility to access a discounted rate through TechSoup.
Access to Discounted Rates
The administrative fee for these offers is not the discounted rate. When requesting an offer that has "Access to Discounted Rates" in its name, you’ll pay TechSoup an administrative fee in order to gain access to discounted rates on provider websites.
You will renew your eligibility to access the discounted rate with TechSoup before you can renew your subscription at the discounted rate with the provider.
Your eligibility renewal date with TechSoup may different then your subscription renewal date with the provider.
Renewal Notifications
TechSoup will typically send reminder emails to your organization email address 30, 15, and 5 days before your subscription expires. These reminders will tell you how to renew or end your subscription.
Notification emails are sent to the organization email listed in the Organization Details of your TechSoup account: click the organization's name to view and update it's details. Your organization’s email address may be different from the email address you use to log in.
Please note, once the first notification email is sent, our system will not recognize an update to the organization email or payment status. You can check the Organization Details and Request History in your TechSoup account to confirm updates were successful.
Renewal Requests
30 days before eligibility should be reconfirmed, a new request will appear in the Request History your TechSoup account. The request will remain open until the due date or the it is canceled by a representative of the organization on TechSoup.
If you do not see a pending request for your renewal:
- Confirm you are a representative for your organization on TechSoup: your organization will be listed in your TechSoup account. Only a representative will have access to the organization's Request History.
- In the Request History, enter the request number or adjust the date range to locate the request: you may be outside the 30 day window or it was already fulfilled.
- You may be outside of the 30 day window:
- TechSoup does not cancel overdue renewals. If your request is overdue you may need to search for it within the Request History.
- Confirm your organization email your TechSoup account and then check if you received any renewal notifications. The request may not have populated yet if it's not yet 30 days before the next renewal date.
Payment or Cancel
Once a new request has populated in the Request History, so long as your TechSoup account is associated with your organization, you will be able to add or update payment, or cancel, the renewal.
Add or Update Payment
Add or update the payment method in the Request Details by selecting the request number in the Request History of your TechSoup account.
Some offers, like QuickBooks Online, will require you save a payment method for future renewals. Contact TechSoup Customer Service if the offer requires a credit or debit card, or electronic check, and your organization can only provide payment by mailing a check.
For our members' security, TechSoup Customer Service does not accept payment over Live Chat or by email. What we can do is remove the saved payment, so your organization can securely add new payment information via our website when your next renewal request is added.
Cancel Renewal
Learn how to cancel a pending request.
Please note, you may need to also cancel directly with the offer provider to prevent any future charges. TechSoup is unable to cancel or issue refunds for fees charged by the offer provider.
Contact TechSoup Customer Service if you accidentally canceled your renewal and need the request re-opened or wish to cancel future renewals.
Authorization Hold
Once payment is added or if you previously saved your payment, a pending authorization hold will appear on your payment method's statement. Payment will not be fully processed until the renewal’s due date. The authorization hold may look like multiple charges, but only one payment per request will process and remain on your statement.
If your organization cancels a pending renewal request, no charges will apply.
Authorization holds are usually removed within 5 business days from when the request is fulfilled or canceled.
Outside 30 Day Window: Request Has Not Populated Yet
Contact TechSoup Customer Service to have your saved payment information removed or to cancel future renewals.
