How do I manage recurring payments for subscriptions or other offers through TechSoup?
Some offers require you to pay a recurring annual or monthly administrative fee through TechSoup.
Thirty days before a recurring payment is due, a new request will appear in the Request History of your TechSoup account. View this request to add or update your payment information or to cancel the request.
If you want to cancel a subscription or remove the saved payment information more than 30 days before the due date, contact TechSoup Customer Service.
For "Access to Discounted Rates" offers, you might also need to cancel your subscription directly with the offer provider after you cancel your payment to TechSoup.
Offers That Require Recurring Payments
There are two types of offers that might require recurring payments: subscription offers that are renewed directly through TechSoup and offers that provide access to discounted rates.
Subscription Offers Renewed Directly Through TechSoup
For the following offers, you will renew your subscription directly through TechSoup by paying the admin fee each year.
- AnyDesk
- Autodesk
- Norton
- Quad & Boost Memberships
- QuickBooks Online Plus
- QuestionPro
- TechSoup Services
Offers That Provide Access to Discounted Rates
For some offers that include "Access to Discounted Rates" in the name, you must pay TechSoup's admin fee each year to maintain your eligibility for the discounted rate.
After you pay TechSoup's admin fee, you will then pay the partner providing the offer directly to renew your discounted subscription.
The date that your admin fee payment is due may be different from the date of your subscription renewal with the partner.
Authorization Holds for Recurring Payments
Once payment information is added to a request or if you previously saved your payment information, a pending authorization hold will appear on your payment method's statement 30 days before your renewal date. Your actual payment will not be processed until the due date.
The authorization hold may appear as multiple charges, but you will only be charged once. Authorization holds are usually removed within five business days from when the request is fulfilled or canceled, but this may vary depending on your financial institution's policies.
If your organization cancels a pending request, you will not be charged.
Common Issues with Recurring Payments
If you do not see a pending request in your Request History for an offer with recurring payments there are two things to do:
- Adjust the date range to make sure the request is within the 30-day window.
- Confirm your organization is listed in your TechSoup account.
Some offers require you to save a payment method for recurring charges. Contact TechSoup Customer Service if your organization can only provide payment by mailing a check.
