Overview

Before adding your organization to your TechSoup account, we ensure that representatives are verified that they can act on behalf of their organization.

You’ll be asked to provide an association code to verify you are authorized to represent your organization on TechSoup.

Please note, a password, an association code, and a validation token are not the same and are used for different purposes.

Finding Your Association Code

Active representatives have access to the association code and other organization details in their account: click on your organization’s name to view and edit its information.

You can also find Your Account by clicking the icon shaped like a person in the top right corner of your screen.  Your association code is listed in orange letters.

Editing Your Association Code

Edit your association code to secure your organization’s TechSoup account.

Click the pencil icon to edit your association code and scroll to the bottom of the page.  

Please enter a combination of letters and numbers between 7 and 60 characters in length. You can include hyphens and underscores, you cannot include periods.  

When ready, click Save.  

Can't find your association code?

If you can’t retrieve your organization’s association code, please contact TechSoup Customer Service and, if available, have one of the following documents ready to provide via Live Chat. This document will be used to verify you as a representative.

Please keep in mind:

• Your name does not have to be listed on the provided document.
• We do not accept state tax documents. Only federal tax documents will be accepted.
• For IRS documents, we do not accept files in Microsoft Word format (.doc, .docx).
• We do not accept documents submitted to the IRS, including Form 990 and W-2s.
• We do not accept publicly available documents.

501(c)(3) Determination Letter

Your organization’s or parent organization’s 501(c)(3) determination letter, sent by mail to your organization or parent organization from the IRS.

If you do not have your original determination letter, you may request an affirmation letter from the IRS by following these instructions or calling 877-829-5500.

Group Exemption Letter

We also accept Group Exemption Letters, which are provided by a parent group or denomination to their subordinate organizations or places of worship that are covered under their group exemption status with the IRS.

This letter should be from an officer of your parent organization or denomination and crafted on their official letterhead.

Contact your parent organization or denomination if you do not have a copy of your Group Exemption Letter on file.
