Client Access License (CAL)
A Client Access License (CAL) is not a product, but a license that gives a user privileges to access the server. CALs do not come with a download file and key, since you do not need a software download file or 5*5 product key to activate a CAL. The CAL is activated and installed through the activation wizard directly from your machine.

Learn how to install Remote Desktop Services (RDS) client access licenses (CALs) on the license server and how to license your RDS deployment with CALs.
