Locating Your Qualification Status

Your organization is considered validated, also referred to as qualified, when TechSoup has verified your organization's information and nonprofit status.

You can check your organization's qualification status in your TechSoup account: click you organization's name to view it's details.

 

 

Understanding Your Qualification Status

IF your organization has been reviewed and approved by TechSoup you will see Qualified listed next to your Qualification Status in your TechSoup account.

Qualification Pending – If you have any questions about your qualification status, please contact TechSoup Customer Service.

Your qualification review is in queue or has recently begun.

Qualification Pending – Send us your 501(c)(3) determination letter from the IRS to  qualification@techsoup[.org]. 

Your organization must submit proof of 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), either independently or through a Group Exemption from a national parent organization. 

Methods of proof of 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status:

  1. A photo or scan of the 501(c)(3) Determination Letter that your organization received from the IRS, dated within the last 12 months.
  2. A Group Exemption Letter. This is a letter from an officer of your parent organization that confirms your organization is a subordinate under their group ruling. It must be composed on your parent organization's letterhead.

Qualification Pending – We are verifying that you may act on behalf of your organization.

For your organization’s security, we verify that the representatives associated with your organization on TechSoup may act on its behalf. Have one of the representatives send an email to qualification@techsoup.org with one of the following attached:

  1. A photo or scan of the 501(c)(3) Determination Letter that your organization, or parent organization, received from the IRS by mail.
  2. A Group Exemption Letter. This is a letter from an officer of your parent organization that confirms your organization is a subordinate under their group ruling. It must be composed on your parent organization's letterhead.

Qualification Pending  – Your organization's name on TechSoup doesn't match IRS records. We are awaiting clarification.

The organization name you provided TechSoup does not match the name registered with the IRS, that appears on your website, or both. Send an email to qualification@techsoup.org with a Name Clarification Letter attached.

This letter should include the following details.

  1. Your organization’s letterhead. If you do not have an official letterhead, list your organization's name, address, and contact information in the header.
  2. An explanation for the name discrepancy
  3. A contact name, email address, and phone number

Qualification Pending – We need to confirm your organization's mission. This is necessary for determining your eligibility for offers.

We weren't able to verify your organization's mission or area of focus from the information you provided. 

Eligibility criteria are set by the provider of each offer on TechSoup and may vary based on organization type. Therefore, it is important for TechSoup to clearly understand your organization’s purpose.

Please send an email to qualification@techsoup.org with a Letter of Clarification attached. 

The letter should include the following details:

  1. Your organization’s letterhead. If you do not have an official letterhead, list your organization's name, address, and contact information in the header.
  2. Your organization's primary mission
  3. Activities and programs that illustrate your organization's purpose
  4. A contact person’s name, email address, and phone number

Disqualified – If you have any questions about your qualification status, please contact TechSoup Customer Service.

Your organization is ineligible for TechSoup and our offer partners’ nonprofit programs.

Disqualified organizations may access TechSoup resources, like Community Forums, Events &and Webinars, Courses, Articles and How-Tos, and the TechSoup Blog.  

IRS Disqualified – If you have any questions about your qualification status, please contact TechSoup Customer Service.

We are unable to validate your organization because our records show that the IRS has revoked your organization's tax-exempt status. 

Send an email to qualification@techsoup.org with a photo or scan of the 501(c)(3) Determination Letter that your organization received from the IRS, dated within the last 12 months.

Re-qualification Pending

Your organization was previously qualified (validated) and lost its status with TechSoup. Your organization will need to be re-qualified to access TechSoup and our offer providers' nonprofit programs.

Organizations awaiting re-qualification may access TechSoup resources, like Community Forums, Events &and Webinars, Courses, Articles and How-Tos, and the TechSoup Blog.  

Unresponsive / Abandoned

Your organization was previously added to TechSoup but was never qualified (validated). Contact TechSoup to restart the qualification review.  Do not re-add your organization to your TechSoup account.
