Donation Program Questions
Which Autodesk products are available through the donation program?
Check the Autodesk Donation Directory page for a complete list of available products. If eligible, your organization may receive up to 10 Autodesk subscriptions within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). As long as you continue to meet the program's eligibility requirements, you may request 10 additional subscriptions each subsequent fiscal year to continue using the products.
The Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection and the Product Design Collection include AutoCAD, but the Media & Entertainment Collection does not. TechSoup Canada also offers Fusion 360 and AutoCAD as separate subscription products.
Can I obtain subscriptions for Autodesk products not offered through TechSoup Canada?
All products that Autodesk makes available for nonprofit organizations are listed on the Autodesk Donation Directory page.
If you require additional subscriptions beyond the first 10 fulfilled through TechSoup Canada, or if Autodesk does not offer products through TechSoup Canada that you are interested in, you may request them by emailing technologyimpact@autodesk.com. Autodesk will review your submission and notify you by email whether they can accommodate your request.
What are the program eligibility requirements?
See the eligibility and restrictions page.
Can I obtain donated subscriptions if I purchased an Autodesk product within the past three years?
No. If your organization purchased an Autodesk product from Autodesk or a reseller within the past three years, you will need to request an exception from Autodesk before you can request a subscription from TechSoup Canada. Follow the steps below to request an exception.
- Send email to technologyimpact@autodesk.com.
- In the email include
- Your organization name and contact information
- Which Autodesk product or products your organization purchased
- The total approximate cost of the product or products
- The approximate date of purchase
- The channel through which you purchased them (for example, Autodesk.com or a reseller)
- Once you receive an approval email from Autodesk, request the donated product through the TechSoup Canada website. See the Autodesk Donation Directory page for a list of all Autodesk products available through TechSoup Canada.
Note: Autodesk's approval does not guarantee that your organization is fully eligible for the donation. You must still meet the program's eligibility requirements to qualify for TechSoup Canada's Autodesk products. See the eligibility and restrictions for more information.
Why does TechSoup Canada charge an admin fee for donations?
As a nonprofit, TechSoup Canada includes administrative (admin) fees to cover our costs in connecting you with and processing the offers in our catalog. Our admin fees also help support programs, services, and education for organizations like yours around the world.
Technical Questions
How do I know if my computer meets the basic hardware specifications?
You can compare your Windows computer's hardware specifications against the system requirements for each product by visiting these pages.
You can find the operating system version and hardware specifications on a Mac by checking About this Mac.
How do I extend my subscription?
You may re-request your Autodesk product through TechSoup Canada each year to receive an additional one-year subscription. Wait until your original subscription has fewer than 30 days left before you request your product again.
Do I have to create an Autodesk Account to activate the product?
Yes. Your Autodesk Account is your link to your Autodesk subscriptions, downloads, and benefits. Your software will also prompt you to sign in to your account when you first run the product. If you do not have an Autodesk Account, you will be prompted to create one.
How do I access my requested products?
When TechSoup Canada approves your request, you will receive a confirmation message at your organization email address. Shortly after, Autodesk will send a welcome email, followed by a second email on the day your subscription begins.
If you didn't receive the welcome emails from Autodesk, first check your spam folder. If you still can't find the emails, you can sign in to your Autodesk Account or create a new account to obtain your subscriptions. The email address you use to sign in or create an account must be your organization's email address that is registered with TechSoup Canada.
What can I try if I'm having download issues?
Try another download method available on Autodesk Account or the support and learning resources at the Autodesk Knowledge Network.
How do I allocate licenses in my Autodesk Account?
Please visit Autodesk Account Management for instructions.
Please note that only the contract manager for your organization can allocate licenses. The contract manager role is automatically assigned to the account that was created with your organization's email address that is registered with TechSoup Canada.
If you are logged in with an account that has been assigned the contract manager role, you can change the assignment to a different user, if desired. If your contract manager is no longer with your organization, contact Autodesk Support.
